It strikes me as strange that Regional Council seems to care so much about a single year of crop, yet they are willing to support a land assembly that will ensure that nothing grows on this land ever again. Asking for a report on the "events and decisions" that led to the destruction of the crop has me worried that Council is trying to make staff a scapegoat for the consequences of their own decisions. If anything, the staff involved in the crop destruction were simply acting in a manner consistent with Council's support for the land assembly!
