I was a bit disappointed to see that additional By-law enforcement was scheduled for the first year of the rollout, especially since the other measures should reduce the need for By-law enforcement! Disappointing to see that they prioritized enforcement over prevention -- apparently the reason for this is that they were already paying for this officer through some funding and this makes it permanent.
I am yet to see any basic discussion regarding casteism in Canada, Ontario, or Kitchener & Waterloo. With the huge numbers of South Asian immigrants moving here, ignorance in this area will lead to the horrific atrocities of India emerge here as well. White supremacists aren't ignorant about it, in fact they seem to be far more aware of Brahminical casteism than the "left", and, of course, are already experts on patriarchy. Cities like Seattle have made significant progress, through leaders such as Kshama Sawant. California has made significant progress through leaders such as Thenmozhi Soundararajan, and many more. Nothing of any meaningful significance is being carried out or achieved here as far as racism, colorism, religious-bigotry, and plenty other forms of social control, domination, and violence.
