Hello Citified readers! We made it through the latest municipal election (although we are still waiting for things to finish up in Cambridge with the Catholic Board trustee vote). Instead of a post focusing on local politics and urban issues this week, I want to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Citified since it went live this past May! Whether you subscribe to the free newsletter or are a paid subscriber, your interest in reading this blog means the world to me! And I also want to thank all of you who have taken the time to share Citified in your own social networks as well as those who have liked and/or added comments to posts.
I want to give you a sneak peak about what’s coming up for Citified. Next week, I’ll share about public engagement and if it’s really worth our time and effort. I’ll return to sharing ‘Council Notes’ later this month as we welcome the 2022 local councillors. Also, Substack is rolling out a ‘chat’ option soon that I look forward to exploring to see if that’s a good fit for Citified. (It’s apparently available already for ios users, but as an Android user, I need to wait a bit longer).
I’m always interested in your thoughts! Are there certain issues you’d like me to explore or questions you have about how something works at the local council level? You can always comment on any Citified post or reach out to me on Twitter and CounterSocial (@dtkmelissa). Again, thank you so much for reading Citified!
